Pilates/Yoga Fusion for beginners MONDAY 8:00 - 9:00 a.m. This beginner level course combines a Yoga practice with the principles of Pilates floor work. In this 1-hour class, the Yogi will build strength and support in the joints, while carefully re-aligning the spine. Benefits in alignment include helping the body heal itself from injury and disease to better function throughout the day, and the Yoga postures (Asanas) stretch and strengthen the muscles improving cardiovascular activity. This is the perfect class for the beginner to build strength and flexibility,while energizing the body and mind in a meditative space. Warm Room Yoga(all levels) MONDAY 7:15 - 8:30 p.m. Warm room yoga the optimal temperature that yoga should be done in is 95 degrees. This class will warm you up in order for you to really go deep and find that release. Led through a vinyasa flow cleanse, detox and clear your mind. Sunrise Flow TUESDAY 7:00 - 8:30 a.m. Join us for our sunrise flow class focusing on sun salutations, stamina, and burning a few calories. This class will focus on getting you going to move through your day strongly. Every tuesday morning at 7-8am. Yoga for Beginners TUESDAY 7:15 - 8:30 p.m. Stretch your major muscle groups, open your hips, and increase flexibility in your spine. Increase strength and concentration. Learn restorative and healing poses. Hip Hop Tuesday 8:30-9:30 p.m. Katrina is a dance instructor based in LA. With over 15 years of experience in the world of Hip Hop, she loves to bring her unique style to the classroom! Katrina’s goal is to get you moving, connecting, and having an all around good time. She wants to get her beginners to push through into intermediate and advanced levels. Confidence is key and she wants to help build it with you! Her passion is infectious. Join her and get moving today! Yoga Plus WEDNESDAY 8:00 - 9:30 p.m. This class practices and expands the basic yoga poses and is focused on increasing flexibility...in our minds... our bodies... and our spirits! Warm Room Yoga for Beginners WEDNESDAY 7:15 - 8:30 p.m. Warm Room Yoga is a great way to introduce your body to the benefits of practicing yoga in a heated space. The heat helps encourage detoxification and muscle tension release. This class is invigorating and peaceful ending in silent meditation. Burlesque WEDNESDAY 8:30 - 9:30 p.m. Katrina's (aka Fannie's) classes are geared toward body positivism and bringing women together - to build confidence and feel sexy in their own skin. Her students are invited to wear whatever is comfortable, but encouraged to take chances and remember to love ones self. Her students have the opportunity to perform in showcases a few times a year, but it is not a requirement. Precision and Play THURSDAY 8:00 - 9:15 a.m. Yoga for everyone. This class is process-oriented in the service of discovering your alignment in your practice and having fun while doing it! Hatha yoga = balancing all of the energies and systems in your being, and bringing all the opposites into the center. Finding the poses in your own body means cultivating a love of awareness, detail and nuance, and a light-hearted approach makes that accessible. Annette has been teaching yoga for a long time! (and never gets tired of it. :)) All levels welcome. Line Dancing Thursday 10:00-11:00 a.m. Classes begin with a little stretch. Next, we walk through all steps before cranking up music, and call out all moves. The beginning dance are usually 16-32 steps, often one walk and two walks. As the hour progresses, the dances become more complex. We end with a nice stretch. Yoga Plus FRIDAY 8:00 - 9:30 a p.m. This class practices and expands the basic yoga poses and is focused on increasing flexibility...in our minds... our bodies... and our spirits! Dancercise SATURDAY 8:00 - 9:00 a.m. A combination of dancing and fitness to give both cardio ad toning benefits while burning calories to hip-hop, R&B, salsa dance. Yoga for Beginners SATURDAY 10:00 - 11:30 a.m. Stretch your major muscle groups, open your hips, and increase flexibility in your spine. Increase strength and concentration. Learn restorative and healing poses. Deep Yoga SUNDAY 9:00 - 10:15 a.m. Yoga offers an extraordinary inner and outer make-over stimulates every fiber of the body and mind. This 75 minutes yoga experience that will place your mind and body right back where they belong...together.Our Studios are capable for movie and filming location

We'll Impress YouThe most affordable dance and yoga studio in town. Book you Special event today. Our studio rentals are comprised of three Different Spaces Annex Studio start at $55 and hour Multipurpose Room start at $65 an hour Front Studio and Office Space are $30 an hour. Supper amenities from high ceilings, floating dance floor, micro phone, surround sound, mirrors, bathrooms, kitchen, internet connection, and stage. Crenshaw Yoga studio was created by a woman named Kar Lee Young who saw a need in the local community and addressed it, creating a unique space for the whole community in which it exists.
Kar Lee is a full time registered nurse who graduated in England as a registered nurse and midwife. Through a wonderful turn of events she came and live in USA. She started to take up a yoga practice as a result of some personal issues and the feeling of missing direction, or a lack of focus. Through practicing yoga she came to find herself, providing focus and an awareness of Karma, which has helped her to make the right decisions.
These experiences prompted her to open a yoga studio to share it’s many benefits. CYD opened its doors in August 2004, becoming the first yoga studio in the Crenshaw Community.
Since the opening the studio, it has expanded to include four individual spaces. The studio space is open up to public use, private parties, events and workshops. We started with yoga and dance classes, and now we are looking to expand into children’s wellness and fitness, hoping to provide dances and music to enrich the lives of young children.
CYD recently had the honor of playing host to a reality show for Oprah Winfrey television network.
